SAR class GCA (2-6-2+2-6-2) built by Krupp in 1928

SAR (GCA) 2621 (Krupp 1064/1928) is preserved.

Maffei 5748

This picture is a taken at the Maffei factory yard. SAR 2425
(class GF) was built as Maffei 5748/1928. It's the largest still
existing Garratt built by Maffei. The locomotive was in service
for SAR and Enyati Railway (AMCOAL), South Africa and is
preserved by the SANRASM Preservation Group.

BP 6779

Beyer Peacock Garratt (6779/1934) is one of only four
Garratts supplied to th ritish home industrial market.
No 12 was built for Guest Keen Baldwin'S Cardiff steelworks.
The photo is taken in 1950.

The 8 engines build by Beyer Peacock were the most powerful
steam locos to operate on the SAR. hey were designed for
working goods trains on the Natal main line.
It is preserved at Outeniqua Transport Museum, George
